One of the pandemic’s biggest impacts has been on jobs and the future of work. Already undergoing transformation, the labor market since the outbreak of COVID-19 has accelerated the adoption of innovative practices but also encountered new challenges. For those whose employment is at risk, this has been an anxious time. That’s why it’s critical during this week’s Global Goals Week for stakeholders to mobilize on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Set in 2015, the 17 goals are the UN’s blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. Randstad’s commitment is focused on four of the goals to which we can contribute the most: decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, gender equality and quality education.

I believe one of the keys for reaching these goals is through collaborative social innovation programs that provide training, career counseling and job placement for those in need. Randstad has successfully piloted and partnered on numerous such initiatives. You can learn more about these programs in our newly released 2021 Sustainability@Work report.
