We are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher for a long-term role in Leeds, starting in January 2025 and running until July 2025. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, where you will have the opportunity to guide and inspire a class of young learners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 2.
- Provide a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of each child.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students and parents on development and areas for improvement.
- Support students with varying learning needs, adapting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and ensure a well-rounded learning experience.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting positive behaviour and a strong sense of responsibility among students.
- Participate in school activities and staff meetings, contributing to the overall success of the school.
Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment methods for Year 2 students.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting the academic and emotional development of young children.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
- A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
