Randstad are looking for a yard hand/Plant Operator who is physically fit and holds a valid forklift license and white card for local work in Blayney, Regional NSW, Australia
The primary responsibilities of this role include opening tins of paint, pouring liquid contents, and handling hazardous materials after training. Additionally, the role involves manual handling tasks such as lifting tins weighing up to 25kg. Approximately 10% of the duties involve forklift driving. The facility also includes other plant equipment such as a compactor machine and a crusher used for tin-crushing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely open tins of paint using a screwdriver and pour liquid contents as required.
- Handle hazardous materials following appropriate training and safety protocols.
- Perform manual handling tasks including lifting tins weighing up to 25kg.
- Operate a forklift as needed (forklift ticket required).
- Work with other plant equipment such as compactor machines and crushers.
- Adhere to waste management standards and protocols.
Requirements:
- Hold a valid forklift ticket.
- Ability to work 38 hours per week on a Monday to Thursday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Friday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm (88886 roster).
- Wear appropriate PPE including long sleeves, trousers, steel-capped boots, and provided PPE such as coveralls and masks for messy work.
- Complete pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing as well as a medical assessment.
