We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Agency Fostering Social Worker to join our dynamic team and contribute to the well-being of children and families in Swansea.
Job Description:
As an Agency Fostering Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing, training, and supporting foster carers, ensuring they provide the highest level of care to the children placed with them. You will work collaboratively with carers, children, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes and stability for looked-after children.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting assessments of potential foster carers, including home visits and interviews.
Providing ongoing support, supervision, and training to foster carers.
Matching children with suitable foster placements.
Developing and reviewing care plans in collaboration with carers and other professionals.
Ensuring all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date.
Attending and contributing to meetings, reviews, and panels as required.
Advocating for the needs and rights of foster children.
Keeping informed about best practices, policies, and legal requirements in fostering.
Requirements:
A degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
Registration with Social Care Wales.
Proven experience in fostering or children's social work.
Strong understanding of fostering regulations and safeguarding practices.
Excellent communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
