We are currently seeking a Workshop Technician to join our dynamic Testing team based in St Georges Way, Nuneaton. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in diverse automotive testing projects within both workshop and road/test track environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide essential support to the engineering team in executing automotive testing projects, including:
- Assisting with brake dynamometer setup, including parts assembly, brake bleeding, wear measurements, and fixture building.
- Handling low-voltage sensor wiring, supporting road and track-based vehicle testing, and offering general workshop assistance.
- Preparing, operating, and setting up data acquisition systems for tests.
- Executing tests according to defined procedures and specifications.
- Fabricating fixtures to support brake testing.
- Organising testing samples in the workshop.
- Support additional tasks such as test equipment maintenance, calibration, and facility upgrades.
- Flexibly assist with other automotive testing activities across various areas such as Durability, Quality, Infotainment, Connectivity, Brakes, EV Charging, Electrical Sign-off, ADAS, and Automated Driving.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies related to project management, quality, OHS, and equipment maintenance.
Desired Profile:
- Relevant experience in a similar role as an automotive mechanic or technician is highly valued.
- Proficiency with basic office applications and IT systems is essential.
- Previous automotive industry experience is desired.
- Experience in metalwork and MIG welding is a plus (training will be provided if necessary).
- Low voltage and instrumentation wiring knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong focus on quality, health, safety, and customer service.
- Full UK driving license is required.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
