We are looking for an Area Leader who will be responsible for the overall success of our retail cafes and their teams for his/her specific area. You will lead the operation of cafes, coffee trucks and pop-up stores, etc., and the launch of new business models in the designated area. as well as build a hospitable team through recruitment and development to ensure a great coffee experience for the guests. The position also manages sales, profits, and budgets for the assigned area, leading the team to achieve financial and operational goals.You will:● Build amazing, passionate, high-performing retail teams, coaching our teams to success andcontinually inspiring and developing them to bring out their best● Develop and empower a strong team of Cafe Leaders, Assistant cafe leaders and Baristas whosework exemplifies deliciousness, hospitality, and sustainability● Step in to help wherever needed (including working floor shifts, serving coffee, etc.) both tosupport your team and to stay rooted in our retail work and finding ways to improve it● Ensure every retail location is an exemplar of hospitality toward our guests, and find new andcreative ways to connect more deeply with the communities around our cafes● Drive exceptional financial performance for each cafe through strong operational managementand coaching Cafe Leaders to help each location succeed● Advise on design of new retail locations and open new locations efficiently● Act as project owner for new store openings(NCO) / cafe closings, directing and managing theentire project in collaboration with all relevant departments● Lead the launch of new experience platforms such as coffee trucks and pop-up stores● Take ownership and drive/execute various in-store events at the café in collaboration with theBrand Team, Café Operations, and other teams● Exchange perspectives with other JP-based retail and cross-functional teams and find ways totake the best from what is happening elsewhere and apply it to your teams and cafes● Partner with our Brand, Cafe OPS and other relevant departments to ensure the excellence ofeverything we provide in our guest experiences

● Able to balance both the big picture and the nitty-gritty in shaping and leading the strategy for
Retail while also driving excellent day-to-day operations at the smallest level of detail
● Articulate and effective in your written and verbal communications to people at all levels of the
company - you get to the point but do it with confidence, humor and grace
● An enthusiastic collaborator who loves drawing upon and learning from the input of others both in
retail and across the company, and being part of something bigger than themselves
● Flexible and creative in problem solving - you roll with the punches and have fun doing it
Qualifications:
● 5+ years in retail management as area manager or supervisor, managing the financial success of
multiple retail locations (ideally more than 10)
● Experience to plan and execute growth strategy and sales strategy of your own area
● Skill to build broad internal network not only in retail team but also in multiple functions of head
office
● Strong verbal and written communication
● A love and respect of delicious coffee, food and amazing guest experiences
● Ideally prior experience in coffee or food & beverage
● Business level English skill is preferable
