about the role
- Manage the Equity Post Trade (EPT) application team comprising internal Java, COBOL developers, and external vendors.
- Oversee application development and maintenance for the EPT system.
- Collaborate with business users and analysts for requirement gathering and project delivery through vendors or in-house developers.
- Provide tier III production support, engaging in production incidents as necessary.
- Effectively manage stakeholders including business units, management, risk and compliance teams, audit, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure adherence to organizational processes and policies.
requirements
- The ideal candidate should possess at least 13-15 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a software development manager role, leading teams of 10 or more developers.
- While hands-on coding is not necessary for this role, familiarity with EJB, enterprise databases (preferably DB2), and web application servers (preferably IBM Websphere) is required.
- No prior knowledge of COBOL is needed, but a willingness to learn is essential.
- Proficiency with Linux is expected.
- The candidate must be able to perform well under pressure, manage challenging situations, and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, as this position involves working on a critical system.
- Experience in highly regulated environments is a plus.
