Responsibilities
- Communicating (via phone/text/geotab) with drivers to advise their next pick-up and deliveries.
- Working closely with the drivers on any problems they may encounter
- Updating shipment status in the dispatch system
- Determining the best routes and order of pick-ups & deliveries.
- Working very closely with fellow dispatchers to co-ordinate the daily activities.
- Advising Customer Service Representatives of any issues so the CSR may communicate directly with clients.
- Verify order status
- Maintain the relationships with clientelle
- Find other carriers to move freight (carrier relations) when internal drivers are not free
Qualifications
- French and English is mandatory
- At least one year's experience in a trucking or brokerage industry
- Team player. Able to work well with others
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Good communicator
- Minimum high school diploma
- Strong geographical knowledge of Quebec
- Good attitude and willingness to learn.
