... - Offer engineering and technical support for the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of the full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities.
- Participate in the MEP design process, observe the static and dynamic testing of mechanical/electrical systems, and operate systems in various modes (normal, maintenance, failure).
- Execute test procedures and utilize fundamental testing equipment.
- Organize and lead weekly T&C (Testing & Commissioning) meetings to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure T&C method statements are issued and approved on schedule.
- Revise T&C plans, including mitigation strategies, catch-up schedules, risk analysis, and look-ahead plans.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution across departments.
- Oversee commissioning levels 1 to 5, including on-site testing, vendor coordination, load banks, documentation, and system integration.
- Work comfortably with mechanical and electrical systems such as chilled water distribution, HVAC/ACMV systems, power systems, and ELV systems.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare field reports to assess project status and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare T&C punch lists and propose solutions for on-site issues.
- Monitor MEP construction progress alongside CSA and MEP teams to identify potential delays in advance.
- Stay informed about local codes, project regulations, construction practices, and equipment trends.
- Comply with all project safety requirements, including specific on-site regulations.
- Perform routine engineering calculations.
- Participate in professional associations and societies.
requirements & qualifications
- Experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of engineering and commissioning principles.
- Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical disciplines.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems from an operational perspective.
- Experience developing MEP test and operating procedures.
- Ability to collaborate with contractors and interpret design specifications.
- Professional interaction skills with clients.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience overseeing and managing the commissioning process for data center projects.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction or operations projects.
- At least 7 years of experience in a commissioning manager role, with a preference for more than 10 years on large-scale industrial projects.
- At least 3 years of experience in a commissioning manager role specific to data center projects with MEP focus (preferably 5+ years).
- Experience with chiller systems, cooling, electrical switchboards, and busways, particularly in data centers and telecommunications.
- Experience with DC Rectifiers, UPS systems, and batteries is advantageous.
- Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams, mechanical schematics, and MEP specifications.
- IT networking knowledge.
- Strong documentation skills, including detailed reports, presentations, and progress/planning reports.
- Willingness to travel.
