Technical Writer

What you will do
As a technical writer, you have the important role of creating and communicating complex technical information in a way that is clear and easy to understand for a wide range of audiences. You are the bridge between the technical experts who develop our advanced production printers and applications, and the end-users who rely on them.
Your work involves creating various documents, such as technical service manuals, user manuals, installation guides, and maintenance/instructional videos. You work closely with engineers and service product specialists to understand the complexities of our hardware and services, and then use your creativity and problem-solving skills to translate this information into concise, well-structured content. Your documentation is integral to the success of our products, directly influencing customer satisfaction and product usability.
But being a technical writer is more than just writing. You are a part of exciting projects and innovations, learning about new technologies and products. As a technical writer, you work in a small team, yet dynamic setting that fosters collaboration and open communication across all levels of the organization. Possibility to grow into the role of a team lead, participate in multidisciplinary teams, constantly communicate with stakeholders, and coordinate your projects.

Who you will work with
The Canon Production Printing Documentation and Translation department is responsible for the development of information and documentation for the latest CPP products (hardware, software, and services). The department consists of an international group of professional technical writers located on multiple sites. The department is constantly seeking advanced and innovative ways to develop documentation. The documentation department develops technical service manuals, user manuals, 3-D graphics, AR-based content, help files, user interface strings, instruction videos, and quick reference cards.
