In order to support teaching and learning on a full-time basis, we are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join one of our primary school communities in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly under the guidance of the class teacher and occasionally independently, adapting to the needs of the students. This position would mostly involve assisting students in succeeding and removing obstacles to learning.

Perform the following duties with little oversight and in consultation with the instructional staff:
- To assist teachers in organising testing and baseline activities in an accessible manner and to take the initiative to lead group or individual provision.
- Discuss, assess, and keep track of the effects of learning activities with the instructors and those in charge of the programme.
- To engage in proactive parent-teacher communication by consulting with the teaching staff.
- To assist, supply, and occasionally even take the lead in preparing resources needed for teaching activities and classroom management duties, such as reading aloud, photocopying, organising resources for classes, running phonics groups, conducting specific interventions, etc.
Requirements:
- Eligibility to work in UK
- Enhanced DBS on updated service (Willing to get one)
- Must provide 2 professional references
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant with children or adolescents, ideally in an educational context.
- An authentic love of learning and fostering the growth of students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, empathy, and the capacity to establish rapport with students.
- Basic knowledge of educational methods and child development.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a changing educational setting.
- While not necessary, having a suitable certification (such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred.
