While this is a newer school than most it is backed by one of the largest SEN trusts in the country and is already fully subscribed. The senior leadership team knows what they are doing and have been moved across from a sister school. This school is a specialist independent provision supporting learners with Autism and related conditions. This is both a primary and secondary provision supporting learners till 19 years of age. This setting offers a bright, modern and welcoming setting with facilities and technology that any school would dream of. All therapies are done on site and every pupil is offered an individualised education and care plan. The school values are trust, empowerment and building confidence. This setting truly believes in every child and strives to offer them the best education possible. This setting is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team on a full time basis. This role is needed Monday-Friday 08:30-4:30pm. There is an expectation 1 day a week to stay until 5pm for staff training however you get this 30 minutes back on another day.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assist students during class making sure they are on track.
- Liaise with the class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.
- Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
- Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
- Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
- Supporting learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities throughout the day
- Using your interests to engage learners in learning.
The ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
- Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
- Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
