Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Flexibility is essential. You will also be required to work until 5:00 pm one day a week for staff training and meetings. Term-time only.
The School
This School, part of the a large academy group, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in Smallfield, Surrey. Here, they support children aged 6-11 years who have communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism.
The School is closely linked with another of their local sites and both share the same Principal and Head of School, though each location has its own Assistant Head and team of Teachers and TAs. Additionally, a full therapy team is on-site to support both staff and students. While the sites operate independently, staff and students do cross between them.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils, ensuring they feel safe, enjoy their time at school, and are ready to learn.
- Encourage independence and personal development among pupils.
- Assist the Class Teacher in all areas of classroom management.
- Adapt to the varying and changing needs of the school to ensure its smooth operation, including occasional physical intervention (full training provided).
- Support the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and spiritual development of pupils.
Requirements:
- Minimum GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) is essential.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience in a special school environment is highly desirable.
- Team TEACH Training (desirable).
