We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join one of our secondary schools in Leeds. This full-time position offers the exciting opportunity to teach KS3 and KS4 students, fostering an appreciation for English Literature and Language while helping students develop essential literacy and analytical skills.

Location: Bradford
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (April 2025 - April 2026)
Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Strong subject knowledge in English, including a deep understanding of literature and language analysis.
- Creativity and the ability to design engaging lessons that are differentiated for a range of ability levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for elucidating complex ideas.

- Effective classroom management techniques
- Perform formative assessments to measure student's progress and offer summative evaluations to guide future learning.
- Capable of giving students honest, constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Commitment to continuing professional development for improving teaching methods.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver interesting and dynamic English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Develop your classes to accommodate students with varied skill levels and use a range of teaching techniques to keep all of your students interested.
- Use formative evaluations to evaluate student's development and provide frequent, constructive feedback to encourage growth.
- Summative evaluations will be used to gauge overall student performance, help exam preparation, and advise future class design.
- Encourage children to improve their reading, writing, and analytical abilities while fostering a love of books, creative writing, and communication.
- Make sure all students, including those with special educational needs, can access the curriculum and succeed by offering them individualised help for a range of skill levels.
- To assist students in making connections, promote self-directed learning and critical thinking.
- Effective behaviour management
- Provide focused revision assistance for students sitting GCSE exams
- Encourage extracurricular pursuits like reading clubs or creative writing projects.
