Responsibilities
As a Tax Operations Analyst you will be responsible for:
•Duplicate Tax receipts administration
•Quality Control verification of various tax slips and investor statements
•Assisting with year-end projects and processes
•Assisting with CRA tax filling
•Assisting with running various clients reports
Shareholder Services is responsible for maintaining the records for investors of various Investment Companies that offer investments such as Pooled Funds, Link Notes, Hedge Funds, Asset Allocations and Mutual Funds. Along with maintaining records, reporting is provided to unit-holders, all in accordance with government policies, tax laws and national policies.
The mandate for Tax. Statements and Reporting team is to deliver unitholder tax, statement and report support services by leading the Year-end Tax project and other tax-related projects, as well as maintenance of pertaining procedural documents to mitigate operational, financial and reputational risk. Team also works closely with other areas of organization (Fund Valuations, Financial Reporting & Tax, Tax Advisory Group etc.) to address tax issues and regulatory changes to ensure a coordinated approach is utilized to enhance client experience.
Administrator in Tax, Statements & Reporting team is to assist and support these stated functions, and to ensure the tasks are performed with accuracy and within specified timeline.
Qualifications
Must Haves
•Strong attention to detail
•Highly motivated, detailed, and deadline orientated
•Strong team player, resolute for team’s success
•Committed to ‘First Time Right’ quality initiative
•Able to quickly learn new concepts and processes
•Able to multi-task and prioritize with varied functions and •workload
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills (French is a definite asset)
•Ability to work overtime – during the week and on weekends
Nice to have:
•Funds industry experience required
•Knowledge of Unitrax record keeping system preferred
•Understanding of registered products desired
• Knowledge of CRA and RQ tax slips
