Responsibilities
· Operates enterprise UNIX computer systems in a big-data communication environment.
· Read and understand manuals and instructions to perform job duties and monitoring activities.
· Performs scheduled tasks per documented instructions/processes or manuals.
· Maintains operations by monitoring error logs, alarms, and messages from the computer system observing peripheral equipment.
· Generates reports from batch jobs and distributes to end-users.
· Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and executes triage of technical problems.
· Responds to incoming telephone calls, email, and voice mail inquiries from internal customers regarding infrastructure related problems.
· Maintains the storage media inventory.
· Makes appropriate changes to the documentation and contributes with individual experiences.
Qualifications
· Communication skills, bilingual: French / English
· UNIX environments
· Reporting skills
· Problem solving
· Be familiar with a computer network environment
· Ability to create and update documentation
· Microsoft Office Suite
· Confidentiality
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Associate degree (or other 2-year degree) in data processing technology, telecom associate, or a related field
· At least 1 year of experience in an information technology environment
