Systems Engineer

... We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Grooming & Beauty business. In this position, you will have the opportunity to innovate and develop new features for Philips Lumea, a range of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) devices designed for long-term hair removal. This successful product enhances Philips' reputation in the consumer product sector and is subject to stringent medical regulations. Its performance relies on sophisticated electronics to ensure the lamp delivers sufficient power for effective and safe usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new innovations for the Philips Lumea product line.
- Manage complexity across multiple domains to bring products successfully to market.
- Translate user and business requirements into product specifications and high-level designs.
- Ensure effective integration and verification of product components.
- Perform root-cause analysis of production problems and consumer complaints.
- Collaborate with various disciplines and global partners to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics, (Bio)Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a lead engineering role, managing complex projects across multiple domains.
- Expertise in using systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., V-model, FMEA, RMM).
- Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools (preferably CREO, Ansys, Matlab, Cameo).
- Extensive experience in developing medical consumer products or working within highly regulated industries.
- Strong skills in requirements management tools (preferably DOORS).
- A quality-focused mindset with no tolerance for underperformance or poor results.
- Excellent abstract, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Motivational and persuasive skills.
- Effective collaboration skills, working with diverse teams and partners globally.
- Design for Six Sigma training and practical application (minimum Green Belt).
