Mental Health Support Worker

About the role:
The role will involve helping people suffering from poor mental health to achieve their goals in their own lives and offer support and guidance. You will be assisting people across a variety of services, such as in their own homes or in residential units and out in the community. You will be providing care according to individual care plans and updating and adapting them as required. You will be promoting independence of service users and encouraging them to complete daily tasks. You will be writing reports, keeping all information accurately documented and updating care plans. The most important part of the role is your attitude and ability to have a positive impact on the lives of others and the rewarding feeling you will get from helping others.
The working pattern can be flexible, with full time and part time roles available on both a temporary and permanent basis. The shifts parents can vary with day shifts, night shifts and sleepover shifts available.
About you:
- Previous experience in a similar role working with people suffering from poor mental health
- You are compassionate and caring towards other with a desire to help people
- You must have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team liaising with wider teams to ensure the best level of care is provided
- Be able to work under pressure and stay calm in stressful situations
- Have a strong ability to work independently and use your own initiative
Qualifications:
- SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or HNC in Social Care (Desirable)
- Full UK Driving License and access to vehicle (Essential)
- Minimum of 1 year UK experience in a similar role
- Right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)
