Responsibilities
-Lead mechanical interface with project teams and clients for DBM, FEED, and Detailed Engineering deliverables
-Prepare engineering reports and basic designs
-Apply knowledge of industry standards: CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, API 650, API 610
-Manage material take-offs, requisitions, technical evaluations, and vendor document reviews
-Direct piping designers on specifications, routing, and layouts
-Estimate project manhours and handle piping/mechanical change-orders
-Provide mechanical expertise for P&IDs, including valves, skids, vessels, and rotating equipment
-Develop Construction/Engineering Work Packages (CWPs, EWPs) and conduct associated evaluations
-Perform engineering calculations: CSA and ASME piping wall thickness, API 650 and API VIII, hot tap, material specifications
Qualifications
Experience
-10+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills for team collaboration and client interaction
-Experience in pipeline facilities, pump/compressor stations, and tank farms
-Preferred experience in oilsands MOC projects and field work in operating facilities or construction
Software and Systems:
-Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
-Experience with Autopipe, Caesar II, NozzlePro, and Abacus is advantageous
-Familiarity with AFT Impulse, Bentley Hammer, and SPS considered beneficial
Certifications
-Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
-Registered P.Eng with APEGA (other jurisdictions an asset)
