The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for fostering business growth and profitability through various business development activities. The role primarily involves evaluating new opportunities, managing the process, and establishing long-term relationships with both external and internal stakeholders in alignment with the company's culture and values. As a Senior Manager, you possess extensive professional experience and necessary skills in this field. The Senior Manager reports to the Director and works closely with department members as well as other departments in Japan and global functions.Responsibilities- Lead business development activities, including commercial and financial evaluations, identifying potential partnership opportunities, negotiation, and alliance management.- Develop business development strategy.- Generate ideas for new business opportunities.- Responsible and accountable for managing successful relationships and contracts of alliance programs resulting from various transactions.- Lead and/or participate in Japan/global business development projects as a representative of Japan office.- Enhance company's industry presence through meetings and events.- Develop marketing strategy for early-stage products based on target product profiles, customer insights, and unmet medical needs.(Potential responsibility)- Lead a cross-functional team to ensure a successful product launch. (Potential responsibility)- Act as a project manager in launch preparation teams. (Potential responsibility)

Experience Needed
- At least 3 years of proven experience in business development activities and/or alliance management.
- Understanding of financial concepts for assessing the attractiveness of opportunities, along with commercial knowledge.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/healthcare environment with a demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and capable of performing well under stress, with a willingness to accept a variety of assignments.
- Ability to build and manage collaborative relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to incorporate different stakeholders' perspectives.
- Leadership that demonstrates initiative.
- Fluency in Japanese is required; proficiency in English is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, finance or other relevant degrees. Commercial and/or finance expertise desirable.
- Scientific and commercial knowledge of rare disease space. (preferred)
- Advanced degree such as MBA. (preferred)
