Responsibilities:
As a Specialist Mentor you are required to support students by:
... - Supporting with the practical impact of their Mental Health.
- To deliver appropriate interventions dependent on student concerns and issues.
- Helping them to achieve an appropriate balance of activities, including everyday living and academic related tasks.
- Improving organisational skills such as time management and problem solving.
- Assisting in managing anxiety, low mood and stress, which can focus on areas both related to and unrelated to study.
- Supporting with independence and confidence building, as well as motivation and procrastination.
- Helping students with reflecting on their own experiences.
- Improving students' confidence by building on their existing strengths.
- Assisting in preparing students for new experiences which they may be nervous going into.
- Working closely with Randstad to ensure any concerns regarding students are communicated as soon as possible.
- Behaving in a professional and confidential manner at all times.
Requirements:
- Must be able to provide face to face support, blended at the least (If you can only provide remote support, unfortunately, you will be not be considered).
- Have experience in supporting students with Mental Health, Autism and ADHD.
- Having an understanding of university life and complexities of academic studies.
- Relevant degree and qualifications that would help to support you in this role.
- Be an empathetic person who can understand the needs of others.
- Be a reliable and responsible mentor to both students and Randstad.
- Have great organisational and time management skills.
- Experiencing in managing your own caseload.
- Ideally, you will come from a Mental Health related background, such as experience in Mental Health Nursing/Advising/Practitioner, Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapy.
