Worcestershire County Council is seeking experienced and dedicated social workers to join their team. This vital role focuses on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people. You will work collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency networks to address social, emotional, and environmental needs. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risks, coordinating services, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of vulnerable children's needs, adhering to statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement multi-agency, outcome-focused plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
- Represent the Authority in court proceedings as needed, providing expert testimony and evidence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of casework, complying with all relevant legislation and procedures.
- Participate in regular meetings to exchange information, collaborate with colleagues, and review progress.
- Manage a demanding caseload, prioritising tasks effectively to ensure timely interventions and high-quality service delivery.
- Perform day duty tasks, including responding to urgent calls, conducting visits, and attending meetings.
Requirements:
- Social Work qualification (relevant degree and registration with Social Work England)
- Significant experience working with vulnerable children and families within a statutory context
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Excellent assessment, planning, and case management skills
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners
- Commitment to child-centred practice
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Rates of Pay:
£33.30 (umbrella/ltd pay) for candidates with 5+ years of qualified experience.
