Randstad are supportng a Worcestershire based client to recruit a temporary social worker within their duty and assessment team.
Job Description:
As a Social Worker within the Children's Duty and Assessment Team, you will play a key role in responding to referrals, conducting initial assessments, and making informed decisions about the next steps for children and families in need. Your work will be dynamic and fast-paced, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to child protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to new referrals and conduct initial assessments.
- Assess the needs and risks of children and families, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
- Work within statutory guidelines and best practice frameworks to safeguard children.
- Provide direct support and crisis intervention as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and work collaboratively with other agencies.
- Stay informed on relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with [Relevant Professional Body].
- Proven experience in a similar role within children's services, particularly in duty and assessment.
- Strong understanding of child protection procedures and relevant legislation.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage a varied and dynamic caseload.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
