Randstad are supporting a Herefordshire based client to support in the recruitment of a experienced Social Worker to join their Childrens Assessment team.
This role attracts a hourly rate of £32.52 per hour and there is a £150 accommodation allowance per week, you are also able to claim your mileage back at .45p per mile for every business mile.
Working within the Assessment Team, you will work directly with children and families, alongside other staff within the Directorate and partner agencies. Ensuring referrals are responded to in a child focused and timely way, you will carry out assessments and investigate concerns so that a decision can be made regarding the most appropriate support for the child and family. You will be fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent), with a minimum of 2 years' experience in statutory social care. With honed skills in assessment, report writing, and managing a complex caseload, you will be dedicated to improving the lives of children and families within Herefordshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the team.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
- Work within legal and procedural frameworks to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Provide direct support and intervention to children and families in crisis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and work effectively with other services and professionals.
- Keep abreast of best practices, policies, and legislation relevant to child welfare.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with [Relevant Professional Body].
- Proven experience in a similar role within children's services.
- Strong understanding of child protection procedures and relevant legislation.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a caseload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
