Our client is seeking a motivated and reliable Junior Site Foreman or leading hand/carpenters ready to take the step up into supervision roles to join the team. - Assist the Site Manager in managing day-to-day operations of the construction site.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors and construction crews.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and assist with project scheduling to ensure deadlines are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report any issues to senior management.
- Assist with ordering and tracking construction materials and equipment.
- Ensure the site is organised, clean, and free of hazards.
- Support with site administration tasks, including daily logs and progress reports.
Requirements:
- 5+ years as a carpenter or experience as a leading hand and/or site foreman, preferably within commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- QBCC Site Supervisor license or ability to apply for one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction Management or carpentry trade qualification.
- Experience with project management software or construction site management tools.
- First Aid and/or Safety certifications.
