Randstad Australia has been engaged to recruit an experienced Urban Designer to join a growth area council on a three month contract basis. As a Senior Urban Designer, you will play a role in shaping the built environment to promote livability, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal in the council.
Key responsibilities:

- Contribute to planning and design of council’s strategic urban planning documents.
- Develop urban design frameworks, master plans, public realm strategies, and policies.
- Create and apply design and character guidelines for private and public development proposals.
- Review and update policies on activity centers, structure plans, and mobility strategies.
- Contribute and coordinate with other relevant strategic planning staff in the design and delivery of civic improvement projects for activity areas.
- Provide design critique and directions for public realm and other council projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Urban Design or equivalent.
- Strong level of experience within state or local government.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products and other industry software applications such as AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite.
