Responsibilities
Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring the compliance of Canadian corporate income tax returns, assisting with tax audits, filing information returns and any ad hoc projects.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze sales tax accounts and prepare working papers to support the monthly/quarterly/annual Canadian sales tax returns and ensure compliance of sales tax returns filing.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly tax provisions and journal entries including tax account reconciliations and adjustment
• Assist with preparation of Canadian income tax returns
• Assist with monitoring/researching developments in IFRS and tax legislative changes and forecasting impact to Canadian entities.
• Assist with managing direct and indirect tax audits and liaising with Canadian tax authorities.
• Research and analyze tax issues and questions from various business operation units.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects to provide tax inputs as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or Economics
- 1 to 3 years of experience in taxation, auditing, or accounting (in a firm or company).
- Experience in preparing and reviewing tax reports.
- Ability to work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Have a strong attention to detail
- Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
