We are looking for a senior social worker with at least 3 years post qualifying experience in front line statutory social work who is able to undertake court proceedings for a period of 3 months with an ability to report write.
Average caseloads are 22 children.
You should be able to demonstrate that you're are up to date with changes to legislation, theory and practice and have continued to maintain a high level of CPD throughout your Social Work career.
Hours of work are 37 per week and you will be required to work from the office every day.
The office is based in Sheffield covering the North of Sheffield.
Duty hours aere 8.45-5.15pm Monday to Thursday with a finish at 4.45pm on a Friday.
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will work with children and families to assess risks, develop safety plans, and provide ongoing support to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in need of protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs and family circumstances.
- Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans in collaboration with children, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Manage a caseload of child protection cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, reviews, and other relevant meetings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with legal and organisational requirements.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
- Participate in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work under pressure.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
Minimum Requirements:
-SWE Registration
-2 year post qualifying experience within UK
