About the Role:
This is a full-time, 4-year fixed-term position.
The Senior Project Manager (Roadside Systems) will play a key leadership role in delivering the Roadside System (RSS) package for STC’s Toll Collection Capability (TCC) Project. Reporting to the Deputy Director Tolling, this role will oversee the RSS workstream from delivery to operational transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of the Roadside System (RSS) package, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Integrate RSS with the broader Toll Collection Capability (TCC) Project, managing interdependencies across workstreams (Backoffice System, RSS, and TCC IT).
- Ensure rigorous risk management, identifying and mitigating potential delivery risks proactively.
- Oversee contract and stakeholder management, liaising with delivery partners, governance forums, and key stakeholders.
- Provide regular project reporting to leadership, ensuring alignment with governance and compliance requirements.
- Drive effective budget control, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, supporting continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing.
- Ensure a smooth transition from project delivery to operational readiness, setting the foundation for toll collection success.
Key Relationships
- STC Leadership Team (including Executive and Project Directors)
- TCC Project Team (Backoffice System, IT, and PMO teams)
- External partners (Independent Advisors, Infrastructure Contractors, and Spark Consortium)
- Government and industry stakeholders involved in transport infrastructure delivery.
Success Indicators
- RSS system is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality expectations.
- Operational readiness for NEL tolling commencement is achieved seamlessly.
- Effective stakeholder engagement, ensuring smooth project execution and buy-in.
- Risks and issues are identified early and managed effectively.
- Strong leadership and contribution to a high-performing project delivery team.
Key Selection Criteria
Experience & Skills
- Extensive experience in delivering large-scale, technology-driven infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in project management, risk management, and contract administration.
- Strong background in tolling, transport, or critical infrastructure operations is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across government, industry, and delivery partners.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
