What will you do?
As the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a team that is responsible for day-to-day operations of the mobile device management (MDM) platform which manages a fleet of 20K+ iPhones across stores globally. You’ll be responsible for the planning and execution of how this system evolves to meet our future needs. You’ll partner with a diverse set of technical partners to evolve and establish our asset management evolution for hardware in stores globally.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record in leading large-scale IT projects, particularly in the retail apparel industry. You’ll demonstrate strong skills in developing, maintaining, and overseeing project artifacts.
Objectives of this role
- Lead hardware projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Work with Technology and Program manager to support the project team with prioritization.
- Lead structured daily stand ups and project meetings while empowering the team to be self-organized.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate channels and stakeholders, escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
- Work with analysts, engineers and architects to produce Hardware Solution Designs.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and re-sellers, with particular focus on procurement and relationship management.
- Support financial management of budgets, inclusive of reconciling invoices and expenses.
- Ensure that projects are launched Operationally Ready.
Asset Management Evolution:
- Oversee the evolution of asset management practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.
- Collaborate with partners to implement new asset management software and tools to streamline processes.
- Develop and maintain asset management policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Train staff on new systems and processes to ensure effective adoption.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Mobile Device Management (MDM):
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of the MDM projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including helpdesk, infrastructure/networking, and retail operations staff, to ensure smooth transition and minimal disruption.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of project management experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- PMP certification and/or formal knowledge of project management principles, processes, and tools.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of technology experience or an equivalent combination.
Must haves
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand complex IT systems and processes.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Strong negotiation/facilitation skills with an ability to gain consensus.
- Experience with vendor management and working with key 3rd party strategic partners.
- Proven success working with all levels of cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to consult, facilitate and manage expectations with leadership, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
- Knowledge of working with Vendor SOWs, RFPs, and contracts.
- Ability to leverage appropriate project management methodologies based on project requirements.
- Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets.
Nice to Have
- Experience in technical project management in the retail industry.
- Experience in managing MDM transformation projects and/or asset management systems.
- Experience in with hardware asset management systems and delivery projects.
- Hardware delivery project experience.
