Senior Programme Planner (Visio & Jira)

Our client is looking for a senior programme coordinator who can understand programme level plans and timeframes, pull together high level, integrated plans of a page view in Visio and support their programme with Jira by carrying out ongoing training across the programme, creating jira reports, filters, updating automations and general problem solving to support Programme Delivery!

Key Responsibilities
Programme Planning support:
- Quarterly creation of visio based plans of a page (POAPs)
- Weekly updates and monitoring of POAPs
- Monthly PSC POAP updates
- Future roadmap maintenance and updates aligned with programme priorities
- Specific workshops to replan / realign POAPs as required
Jira management and support:
- Primary point of contact for all Jira questions and requests.
- Assist with requests and problems, including building filters, boards, advanced roadmaps, and dashboards as required.
- Manage and operate the Programme’s centralised Jira functions, including sophisticated automation and customisation.
- Support Jira as the Programme’s primary planning tool, including supporting the assessment of quality, standard adherence, and identifying gaps and opportunities in Jira maturity.
- Onboard and train new Jira users.
- Lift the programme’s Jira maturity through dedicated support (proactively and reactively) as required to upskill team members.
- Develop and maintain Jira guidance documentation as required.
- Continuous improvement of the tool, guidance, and training.
Experience and skills
Programme Planning support:
- Planning background to analyse large amounts of plans across many programme teams and present cohesive, integrated plans / timelines on a page.
- Strong dependency management experience to ‘connect dots’ and ensure robust alignment of plans
- Expert visio skills to present programme timelines at various governance and management levels in a timely manner
- Design planning visuals with full or subsets of plans to support specific workshops, planning events and reports as required
- Alignment between visio and jira to ensure all key information is captured
- Assessment of plans in jira for specific training areas
- Support programmes teams for specific planning sessions if requested
- Understanding of iterative delivery approaches using some agile methods
Jira management and support:
- Strong experience and understanding of how Jira works as a system
- Experience in problem solving and developing solutions to Jira-related issues, challenges, opportunities and requests with both the user interface and system configuration of Jira
- Strong relationship management skills across key programme stakeholders e.g. Scrum Masters, Programme and Project Managers, Programme Coordinators
- Competent in developing easy to follow, informative, guidance documentation
- Experience in delivering Jira training at different expertise levels, including targeted upskilling support
