Responsibilities
•Execute semi-monthly payroll processing for approximately 450 employees across Canada, including Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and Alberta.
•Manage payroll activities for both salaried and hourly employees, including processing new hires, terminations, benefits, and retros.
•Administer RRSPs, benefits, workers' compensation, and other payroll-related deductions.
•Prepare payroll journal entries and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
•Generate comprehensive reports to support payroll analysis and decision-making.
•Oversee benefits administration and ensure timely reconciliation of payroll-related accounts.
•Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies to optimize payroll operations.
•Facilitate clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and employees, regarding payroll matters.
•Stay updated on relevant legislation and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
Qualifications
•PCP Certification is required.
•5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll processing and administration.
•Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce or similar payroll software.
•Experience managing standalone payroll operations is highly preferred.
•Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and legislation.
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
•Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
•Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
•Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
