Job Title: Senior Fund Accountant (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Randstad Senior Finance is proud to partner with a leading wealth management company in Melbourne in the search for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role offering the opportunity to manage key financial reporting processes, including general ledger oversight, APRA reporting, and year-end financial reporting. This position is ideal for an experienced individual with a background in superannuation and financial services.
About the Role:
As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for the delivery of financial reporting requirements for the business’s superannuation clients. This includes general ledger reconciliations, APRA reporting, monthly reporting, and preparation of financial statements. You’ll collaborate with both internal teams and external clients to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of critical financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger balances, coordinating the reconciliation process, and reviewing accounting journal entries. Prepare and review monthly management reports, Income Activity Statements, Business Activity Statements, and tax provisions.
- APRA Reporting & Insurance Premiums: Ensure compliance with APRA reporting requirements, review fee calculations, and monitor insurance premiums as required.
- Year-End Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial statements, pro formas, and discrete note disclosures. Liaise with audit teams and manage the year-end reporting timetable.
- Unit Pricing & Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile unit pricing provisions for fees, tax, distributions, etc.
- Ad-Hoc Support & Process Improvement: Provide support for various projects, installations, and transitions. Assist with developing written procedures for critical processes, identifying process improvements, and implementing practical solutions.
About You:
- Qualifications: CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent).
- Experience: Strong experience in superannuation and financial services, with a background in financial statement preparation, APRA reporting, and year-end processes.
- Skills:
- Proven expertise in reconciliation, financial reporting, and tax provisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure with strong time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and advanced numerical problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- High proficiency in Excel, with macros being a preferred skill.
- Personal Traits: Methodical, organised, and capable of building strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
