The Senior Manager, FP&A will oversee end-to-end financial planning and analysis for Malaysia and Singapore markets. The role is pivotal in driving forecasting accuracy, strategic financial planning, and operational efficiency through collaboration with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Forecasting (30%)
- Prepare monthly rolling forecasts (RF) for the full Profit & Loss (P&L) from Gross Sales to Net Profit.
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Commercial Finance, and Supply Points to update Gross Sales, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and SKU-level sales volumes.
- Generate detailed RF reports, including:
- SKU-level P&L (Gross Sales to Gross Margin)
- Brand P&L (Gross Sales to Profit Before Tax)
- RF ROP (Return on Plan) Bridge
- Net Sales Variance Analysis
- Support reporting of Innovation & Renovation (Inno/Reno) activities, A&P spend by category, and Customer Reporting Analysis.
- Identify and quantify Risks & Opportunities (R&O) in forecasts.
- Prepare RF decks and updates for Regional Business Unit (RBU) reviews.
2. Global Planning System (GPS) (25%)
- Update monthly offtake, sell-in, and sell-out performance metrics by brand, customer, and channel.
- Work closely with the Demand Planner and Sales team to align RF with GPS and address R&O.
- Track and report KPIs, including sales indicators, product availability, and inventory metrics.
- Lead monthly GPS presentations and integrate topline performance into strategic discussions.
3. Monthly Actual Closing & Reporting (5%)
- Analyze actual financial results vs. forecasts and address variances.
- Ensure alignment of actual results with forecasts, providing commentary on key deviations.
- Consolidate key financial figures for Managing Director’s reviews and ISEA VP discussions.
4. Strategic & Business Planning (5%)
- Assist the Finance Director in strategic planning and scenario modeling for long-term and annual plans.
- Consolidate contributions from Innovation/Renovation projects and prepare Strat Plan and Business Plan presentations.
5. Cost of Goods (COG) & Variance Management (25%)
- Validate and update Standard Cost Price (SCP) and Transfer Prices (TP) for all SKUs.
- Analyze variances in Purchase Price, Stock Revaluation, and Stock Write-offs in collaboration with Operations Finance Controllers and Supply Chain teams.
- Monitor and challenge justifications for stock write-offs and ensure cost accuracy in financial systems.
6. Productivity & Efficiency Projects (5%)
- Represent Finance in projects aimed at enhancing profitability and efficiency, including PRGM (Profit & Revenue Growth Management) and cost optimization initiatives.
7. Ad Hoc Analysis (5%)
- Provide simulations, scenario analysis, and financial insights for business cases and decision-making.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from the Finance Director, RBU, and Country Business Unit (CBU) stakeholders.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW).
- Minimum 8 years of FP&A experience, preferably in FMCG or multinational environments.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Commercial and business acumen, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
