About the job
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS 17, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with IFRS 17, including the development of policies, procedures, and controls.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement in financial performance.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and senior management, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on IFRS 17 to the finance team and other relevant departments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting.
- Participate in or lead special projects as required to support the finance department and company objectives.
Skills and experience required
... - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly desirable.
- At least 2 years of experience working with IFRS 17 in the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, with a particular focus on IFRS 17.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
