Successful candidates must meet the below expectations to be eligible for the role:
•8-10 years of demonstrated experience in capital projects
•3-5 years directly leading major capital projects > $5M.
•3-5 years leading a functional area of major capital projects
•5 years of construction management experience and managing contractors and equipment suppliers
•Demonstrated experience in working with process equipment – specifications, selection, procurement and installation
•Demonstrated experience in working with design engineers and architects on major projects
•Demonstrated experience developing and executing RFP/RFQ packages for equipment procurement
•Demonstrated experience developing RFT packages for facility expansion / construction
•Demonstrated experience with project management standards and tools.

Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Managed various complex capital projects from concept to completion to commissioning.
- Project management experience including budget preparation, cost tracking and negotiating with vendors.
- Provide technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and services
- Represent the Company in dealing with all levels of Government pertaining to permitting and obtaining the necessary approvals
- Assess and prioritize process/project opportunities, identify gaps and manage it from beginning through to completion.
- Improve the overall operating efficiency of the plants
- Collaborate with cross functional teams for technological improvements and process optimization.
- Assist Plant Managers to foster a continuous improvement culture in multiple manufacturing facilities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Food processing)
- Professional Engineer designation is required
- PMP is considered as an asset
- Overall of 7 to 10 years’ progressive experience in managing capital projects;
- Experience working in fast paced manufacturing environment including utility systems is required
- Travel is required (25% within GTA).
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Excellent negotiating skills, problem solving skills with root cause analysis experience
