Responsibilities
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various banking domains, aligning with BIAN modeling standards, with specific focus on retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets data models.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and developers to understand data requirements across different banking segments and translate them into effective data models.
Ensure data models adhere to industry best practices, BIAN standards, and regulatory compliance, particularly those relevant to retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Maintain and update data models as business needs and regulations evolve, specifically addressing changes in retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Define and implement data architecture principles and frameworks for the banking industry on GCP, considering the unique requirements of retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement data integration and ETL processes, considering BIAN service domains and utilizing GCP tools, catering to the diverse data sources in retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Evaluate and select appropriate data storage and database technologies for banking data, with a focus on BigQuery, while accommodating the specific data volumes and complexities of retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with banking regulations and data governance policies on GCP, addressing the sensitive nature of data in retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Monitor and optimize data performance for banking applications on GCP, considering the performance requirements of retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets systems.
Mentor and guide junior data modelers and analysts in banking data modeling, BIAN standards, and GCP technologies, with a focus on retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets data models.
Stay abreast of emerging data modeling and architecture trends and technologies, especially in the banking industry and on GCP, relevant to retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets.
Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to banking regulations, especially those concerning retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets data.
Document data models and architecture artifacts, including BIAN mappings and GCP implementations, specific to retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets data models.
Qualifications
Top Skills: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 15+ years of experience in data modeling and architecture, with a focus on the banking domain, specifically in retail banking, business banking, risk, and capital markets. Expert knowledge of data modeling tools, techniques, and BIAN modeling standards. Strong understanding of data warehousing, data integration, and ETL processes in banking, particularly on GCP. Experience with database technologies commonly used in banking, such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services, particularly BigQuery. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
