Support Air Canada’s Data Center and Network platforms for systems management, ad-hoc operational requests, and problem / defect resolution
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Data Center Infrastructure, Network and Cloud operations are in alignment with Air Canada’s business goals and objectives
- Develop and plan strategy, policy and service delivery framework for the Air Canada Infrastructure, Network and Cloud solutions and services
- Establish standards for storage, compute and voice/data communications infrastructure and ensure their performance across all system design, development and maintenance activities
- Support the problem, defect, and incident management processes for seamless operations of Infrastructure, Network and Cloud platforms
- Support the production release management process by managing and participating in deployments and any necessary production regression tests
- Support in delivering evidence of Infrastructure, Network and Cloud compliance to audit requests
- Develop and measure performance and functional metrics for all distributed service environments: internally hosted Data Center, Cloud-based and Network services
- Assess new technology trends to deliver cost-effective cloud solutions
- Manage vendor’s responsible for delivery of the services in the respective Infrastructure area
- Support Disaster Recovery activities for design, coordination and execution of DR annual test exercises
- Operationalize Cloud offerings to move Air Canada towards becoming a ‘Cloud First’ organization
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to collect and use information for improved business and operational performance
- Reviewing and analyzing data from multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Communicating analysis results and making recommendations to relevant stakeholders
- Provide support for the business analysis and technology/business integration efforts
- Analyze technology trends to determine impact to the achievement of business goals
- Support in creating business cases
- Support Planning and monitoring processes
- Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions
- Support definition and maintenance of methods, techniques and calculations for identifying ways to improve business/technical processes
- Align business priorities and provide technical direction on matters related to planning and execution of projects and requests specific to a functional area
- Provide project or request specific financial inputs
- Responsible for management of delivery-specific stakeholder expectations within a functional area
- Responsible for supporting the development of technical capabilities of the delivery-specific project team
- Provide operational inputs to Management and Operational Committees, as required
- Responsible for handling moderate amount of technical complexity, and continuously driving development of effective technical solutions for business challenges within a functional area
- Demonstrate high analytical skills, and moderate to high technical depth
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of IT technology or operations experience in a large company
- CCNA, CCIE, Cloud Solutions Architect and Advanced Networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- A relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the role
