Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, such as Autism. You will support teachers in the classroom and help engage students in practical activities, including Bushcraft and life skills, ensuring each student's academic, social, and personal development goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support, ensuring students' safety and well-being.
- Help students progress towards their Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) goals.
- Use positive behaviour management techniques tailored to individual students.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety issues.
- Encourage positive social interaction and teamwork among students.

- Have a genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their development.
- Be patient and able to manage challenging behaviour in a caring manner.
- Be creative and proactive in problem-solving.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills are required.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
