Trainee Tutor Opportunity - SEN School - East Grinstead
Location: East Grinstead
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 am - 5:00 pm (4:30 pm finish on Fridays)
Term: Approx. 42 weeks per year across three terms
Contract: Full-time, 6-month probation period

We are supporting a inspiring SEN School in seeking a dedicated Trainee Tutor to join their team and provide one-on-one support to their pupils. This is a fantastic entry-level position for individuals looking to grow into the role of a tutor while learning valuable skills in education, behaviour management, and personal development.
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with pupils in daily individualised teaching sessions
- Support extra-curricular activities and supervise playtime and lunch on a rota basis
- Contribute to the preparation and organisation of teaching materials
- Provide personal care, including toileting and feeding, when required
- Engage with pupils in various physical activities, including swimming, trampolining, and horse riding
- Uphold safeguarding and welfare practices, reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Collaborate with a classroom team, contributing to home-school communication and pupil progress reports
Your Development Journey:
During the six-month probationary period, you'll receive comprehensive training, guidance, and feedback. This includes:
- Ongoing support from Class Leaders and Lead Tutors
- Opportunities to observe, learn, and practice teaching methods tailored to our pupils
- Regular progress reviews to help you meet teaching standards and develop professionally
