Have you experience as a Teaching assistant supporting SEND or a knowledge and understanding of complex needs or have you experience supporting in a care setting and would like to use your transferable skills to support students in a specialist school setting? Or are you a recent graduate with an understanding of SEN and looking for experience in an education setting?
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals to work in a Specialist School in Stockport. You will be supporting pupils 11 - 16 or there are positions supporting the college students age 16 - 19. The position is to support on a one to one basis and in small groups. The pupils at this school have various learning difficulties, including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), severe learning difficulties (SLD), multiple learning difficulties (MLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Several of the pupils have additional needs that they need support or guidance with so you may be required to aid with these (e.g. feeding, administering medication).
The school has access to many fantastic facilities and professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists to name a few. Some of the facilities the school have include an on site gym, hydrotherapy pool, a sensory studio and soft playrooms.

The responsibilities of the role include:
- Working with pupils one on one to support them with their learning
- Setting up the classroom for the days activities
- Supporting the teacher and ensuring the students are engaged and understanding
- Delivering exciting and fun lessons to pupils
- Supporting additional requirements of the students needs - This can include care, feeding and escorting around school.
The requirements for the role are:
- DBS on the update service
- Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs

The working hours are 08:30 - 4 (35 hrs per week) The successful candidate will be working alongside some fantastic pupils and working with a supportive and dedicated staff team. You will have a two week paid induction course to enable you to understand the schools policy's and to prepare you to work well in your role.
