SEN Teaching Assistant
Spalding, Lincolnshire
£88 - £95 per day
We are working alongside a local SEN school based near Spalding who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
You will be responsible for:
- Helping children with their personal care requirements
- Offering vital support in the classroom both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups
- Supporting self-care practices and independence where relevant
- Tailoring support to address the unique learning requirements of students with SEN
- Collaborating closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Assisting in maintaining classroom order, fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere
- Establishing effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals
- Regularly monitoring and evaluating the academic and social progress of the students
- Adapting teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs
To be successful in your application you will have:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or care setting (SEN experience is highly desirable)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
- Previous experience providing personal care and assisting with physical or medical needs (such as mobility support, feeding, or toileting)
- A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them to thrive
- Patience, empathy, and a calm approach, particularly when dealing with sensitive or challenging situations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to undergo training in specific care needs or educational approaches as required
- A Driving Licence and own vehicle due to location
