A warm and welcoming SEN school in Soham, is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term contract until July 2025.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in providing essential support to students with a diverse range of learning needs. You'll work closely with individual students and small groups, both inside and outside the classroom, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development. This includes:
- Implementing tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
- Assisting with personal care needs (as required) with respect and sensitivity.
- Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters engagement, confidence, and a love of learning.
- Communicating effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.

About You :
- Strong verbal and written communication to engage with students, staff, and parents, while providing clear instructions and feedback.
- Ability to support positive behaviour strategies, manage challenging behaviour effectively, and promote a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Effective time management and the ability to plan and deliver 1:1 and small group sessions, while balancing administrative tasks.
- Flexibility to respond to changing student needs and classroom situations, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting learning.
- Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
- Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young persons they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
