This is a forward-thinking Special Needs school is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team immediately. This full-time position within our KS2-3 Department involves providing support to learners on a 1:1, small group, and whole-class basis. The school caters to students aged 2 to 16 with mixed abilities and Profound and Multiple learning difficulties. Responsibilities:
- Support learners individually, in small groups, and in whole-class settings.
- Create a warm, caring, and supportive environment for students, fostering a sense of safety and enjoyment in their learning journey.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality, challenging, and tailored educational activities that align with a diverse and comprehensive curriculum.
- Aim to help pupils reach their full potential across all areas of learning.
- Support KS1-KS3 SEN learners on a 1:1, small group, and classroom basis
- Communicate with parents and carers regarding pupils' progress, and actively participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school training events.
Requirements:
- Relevant childcare experience (voluntary or paid) (Must be able to provide references)
- Experience working or volunteering with SEN (desirable)
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Eligibility to work in the UK (No sponsorship provided)
- Enhanced DBS
- All experience levels considered; ideal candidates are flexible, resilient, and have a positive approach to supporting learners with SEN (direct SEN experience not essential)
- Relevant experience/knowledge of UK SEN settings (desirable)
