The Role :
We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to work at our partnered esteemed SEN School based in Bury St Edmunds. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a key role in supporting students in the classroom and during various school activities. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure that each child receives the individual care and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your Responsibilities:
- Tailor support to address the unique learning requirements of students with SEN.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist in maintaining classroom order, fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
- Establish effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of students with SEN.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with SEND children (preferably with autism/ADHD experience).
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Caring and empathetic personality.
- Commitment to safeguarding children.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
