Special Needs Assistant - Preston

Randstad Education is currently recruiting for Special Needs Assistants to provide essential support across primary schools in Preston. The role will involve working with children with a variety of SEN requirements, including Autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges, cognitive and global delays, Down syndrome, and hearing impairments. You'll be placed in a position that suits your expertise, ensuring the best fit for the child's specific needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver 1:1 tailored support to meet individual SEN needs.
- Work alongside classroom teachers and the SENCO to plan and implement effective support strategies.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, teaching assistants, and external support staff.
- Provide assistance to classes, small groups, and individual students on a 1:1 basis.
- Monitor the child's progress and support their personal and social development.
- Foster positive relationships to boost confidence and encourage learning.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding or experience with SEN, including managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage with children and build positive relationships.
- Creativity, flexibility, and a proactive approach to support.
- Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in SEN support.
