Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. You will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support and engage students in practical activities such as Bushcraft and life skills. Your role is crucial in helping students achieve their academic, social, and personal development goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
- Help students progress toward their Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) targets.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies tailored to each student's needs.
- Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
- Promote positive social interaction and teamwork among students.
What We're Looking For:
We welcome applicants with or without experience. The ideal candidate will:
- Have a genuine passion for working with young people and helping them develop.
- Be patient, with the ability to manage challenging behaviours in a caring way.
- Be creative and proactive in problem-solving.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills are required.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
