They're looking for a Level 1-2 SEN Teaching Assistant to become a part of their committed team.
Your Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be integral to the students' academic and personal growth. You'll support their learning and well-being, helping them achieve their fullest potential in a nurturing and secure environment. Your duties may sometimes extend to care needs and positive behaviour management, tailored to each student's unique requirements.
You'll build warm, supportive relationships with their pupils, fostering a safe and engaging learning atmosphere. Encouraging independence and personal development, while upholding high behavioural standards, is key. You'll assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational experiences, enabling every student to excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
- Provide valuable feedback on student progress and achievement.
- Help monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils' progress in line with school policies.
- Support positive behaviour and focus, adapting your approach as needed.
- Promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, and uphold British values within the PSHE framework.
- Foster students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being through a holistic curriculum.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist where needed in the dynamic SEN environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in an SEN role, either employed or voluntary.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for student carpooling on a rota basis).
- Recognised Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
- GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
- Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Experience with pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
- A child-first approach, recognising and responding to each student's individuality.
- Creativity and positivity in meeting pupils' needs.
