Role Overview
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide individual and group assistance to students with diverse learning needs. Your role will involve contributing to the overall classroom environment and supporting students' social and academic development.
Key Responsibilities
🎓 Student Support:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students with their academic and social development.
- Encourage independence and resilience through structured activities and personalised support.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere to boost students' confidence and self-esteem.
📚 Classroom Assistance:
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons tailored to each student's needs.
- Help maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching team to adapt learning strategies.
🌟 Additional Responsibilities:
- Support students during transitions, breaks, and school trips.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated individual who:
- Has experience working with children, preferably in an SEN setting.
- Is knowledgeable about safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Brings a patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to working with students with complex needs.
- Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills.
