A specialist school in Horley, rated as "Good" by Ofsted, is currently seeking a positive and dedicated specialist teacher to work with students facing social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). The school provides specialized education in a calm and nurturing environment for children aged 6-19 who have communication difficulties commonly associated with Autism spectrum conditions.
The school focuses to ensure that students who struggle with accessing education can have a socially engaging and stimulating school experience. Responsibilities:
- Organizing and preparing daily activities, materials, and lessons in alignment with the curriculum.
- Taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Facilitating learning and play-based teaching approaches for children.
- Observing and documenting students' progress and growth.
- Adhering to the school's principles and values.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications (PGCE, BEd, QTS)
- An in-depth knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Classroom experience.
- A minimum of two references covering six months out of the past two years.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student achievement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK (No sponsorship provided)
